Who are we ?

For 75 years, the Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale (FRM) has been fighting for life, stimulating and supporting progress that has the potential to improve and save lives tomorrow.

By adopting a multidisciplinary approach, the FRM encourages, selects and finances promising research projects on all diseases: cancers, cardiovascular diseases, neurological and psychiatric diseases, infectious diseases, etc.

Convinced of the importance of fundamental research, the breeding ground for all medical innovation, the FRM supports projects of excellence, with the aim of increasing the knowledge and know-how necessary in the development of innovative concepts at the origin of major advances as benefits for our health.

With a constant ambition to open up knowledge related to medical research to as many people as possible, the FRM develops and deploys a variety of scientific information media.

The FRM supports each year more than 400 new research projects carried out in laboratories of public research and higher education organizations (INSERM, CNRS, INRA, CEA, Universities, Grandes Ecoles, health establishments, etc.).

Independent, the FRM acts thanks to the generosity of its donors, testators and partners.

The Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale is recognized as being of public utility and labeled by Don en Confiance.

I am aware that medical research in France needs additional resources. We will continue to promote excellence while ensuring that the project selection rate is sufficient to motivate the best.
Denis Duverne, Président du Conseil de surveillance
